Section 5 of the Indian Contract Act: when can a proposal be revoked, and does that apply if acceptance has been put in course of transmission?

Under §5 of the Indian Contract Act, a proposal can be revoked at any time before the communication of acceptance is complete as against the proposer, but not afterwards. Acceptance is "complete as against the proposer" when it is put into a course of transmission so as to be out of the acceptor's power. So if A posts an acceptance to B at 4 PM, B can no longer revoke after 4 PM, even if the letter hasn't arrived yet.
