Withdrawal of powers
AI Assist
Summary
The High Court or the State Government can revoke all or part of any powers they had given to a person or to an officer under them. Similarly, a Chief Judicial Magistrate or a District Magistrate can withdraw powers they themselves had delegated. Once withdrawn, the recipient no longer has the delegated authority.
Example
Karan was authorised by the State Government to inspect local taxi permits and sign approvals. After complaints about his inspections, the State Government withdrew that delegated authority. Karan must stop inspecting and cannot sign approvals anymore.
