Non-application of Chapter

The rules in this Chapter do not apply to any juvenile or child as defined in the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. When a person qualifies as a juvenile or child under that Act, the Chapter’s provisions will not govern the case and juvenile law procedures will apply instead.

Arjun, age 15, is accused of an offence covered by this Chapter. Because he is a juvenile under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, the Chapter’s procedures will not apply and his case will be handled under juvenile law instead.
