Court may direct payment of alimony to wife or to her trustee
AI Assist
Summary
When the court orders alimony, it can require payments be made to the wife herself or to a trustee approved by the court. The court may impose terms or restrictions on those payments. If needed, the court can from time to time appoint a new trustee.
Example
Priya gets a decree for monthly alimony but is undergoing medical treatment and cannot manage money. The court directs her husband to pay the alimony to a trustee it approves, with a condition that the trustee use the funds for Priya's living and medical expenses. Later, if that trustee fails, the court can appoint a new trustee.
