Replacement of vehicles

AI Assist

Summary

A permit holder may swap a vehicle covered by the permit for another vehicle of the same nature, but only with permission from the authority that granted the permit. The authority’s permission makes the replacement valid so the new vehicle can operate under the same permit conditions.

Example

Ravi has a goods vehicle permit for his old truck and finds a newer truck of the same type. He must get permission from the authority that issued his permit before using the new truck under the same permit; without that permission the replacement is not valid.

Bare Act

Enacted text

The holder of a permit may, with the permission of the authority by which the permit was granted, replace any vehicle covered by the permit by any other vehicle of the same nature.
