General form of permits

Every permit under the Act must be self-contained and must list all necessary particulars and the conditions attached. This applies to every kind of permit issued under the Act. The practical consequence is that the permit document itself must show what is allowed and on what terms so authorities and holders know the limits.

Priya applies for a taxi permit. The permit must state the vehicle number, authorised route, driver conditions and any fare limits. Because the permit is complete on its face, an inspector can check compliance just by inspecting the document.
