Kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage, etc
AI Assist
Summary
If a woman is kidnapped or abducted to force her to marry someone or to force or seduce her into illicit sexual intercourse, the person responsible is criminally liable. The same applies if a woman is induced to leave by criminal intimidation, abuse of authority, or other compulsion for that purpose. The offence carries up to ten years imprisonment and a fine.
Example
Rohan tricks Priya into getting into his car and drives her to a remote house intending to force her to marry him against her will. He can be punished with up to ten years imprisonment and a fine. If instead he had threatened Priya or used his position to make her leave home for the same purpose, the same penalty would apply.
