Public servant concerned in sale not to purchase or bid for property

AI Assist

Summary

A public servant who has any duty in connection with the sale of property under this Sanhita is prohibited from buying or bidding for that property. The rule kicks in as soon as the official has any role relating to the sale. It prevents a conflict of interest by barring the official from participating as a purchaser or bidder.

Example

Priya is the municipal officer running an auction of a vacant plot. Because she has duties connected to that sale, she is prohibited from bidding for or buying the plot and must not participate as a purchaser.

Bare Act

Enacted text
