(Repealed) Application of foregoing sections to the Indian Marine Service

The provision has been repealed and has no legal effect today. It formerly extended the immediately preceding penal provisions to members of the Indian Marine Service, but after repeal those persons are dealt with under the general criminal law or applicable service regulations. You cannot rely on this clause in current prosecutions.

Ravi, a sailor in the Indian Marine Service, is accused of stealing ship stores. Since the provision was repealed, authorities will proceed under the general IPC provisions or the service rules; the old clause does not change how Ravi is prosecuted.
