Recovery of money from insurer as arrear of land revenue
AI Assist
Summary
When a person is owed money under an award, the Claims Tribunal can, on the applicant's request, issue a certificate to the Collector. The Collector then recovers that sum using the same procedure as for an arrear of land revenue. The recovered amount is paid to the person entitled.
Example
Ravi wins a compensation award against an insurer but the insurer does not pay. Ravi applies to the Claims Tribunal, which issues a certificate to the Collector. The Collector recovers the money as an arrear of land revenue and hands it to Ravi.
