Summary

Provisions in this Chapter override any conflicting provision in this Act or in any other law. When a rule in this Chapter conflicts with another provision, the Chapter’s rule prevails. The Chapter therefore takes priority whenever there is inconsistency between its rules and other laws or sections.

Example

Priya runs a taxi. A municipal rule allows vehicle fitness checks every two years, but a Chapter rule requires annual fitness checks. Because the Chapter overrides other laws, Priya must get her taxi checked every year.

Bare Act

Enacted text

The provisions of this Chapter shall have effect notwithstanding anything contained in any other provision of this Act or of any other law for the time being in force.
