Territorial divisions
AI Assist
Summary
States are organized into sessions divisions, districts and sub-divisions for the purposes of this Sanhita. The State Government, after consulting the High Court, may change the boundaries or the number of those divisions, districts or sub-divisions. Divisions, districts and sub-divisions already in existence when the Sanhita began are treated as formed under it.
Example
Priya lives in a very large district. The State Government consults the High Court and splits that district into two sub-divisions to improve administration. The new sub-divisions are valid under the Sanhita, so local courts and police will follow the new boundaries.
