Making preparation to commit dacoity

Making any preparation to commit dacoity is an offence punishable with rigorous imprisonment for up to ten years and a fine. It applies when someone takes concrete steps to plan, equip or organise a dacoity, even if the dacoity itself is not carried out. Courts can impose both imprisonment and a monetary penalty.
