Act of a child under seven years of age

Acts done by a child who is under seven years old are not criminal offences. The rule applies when the child was younger than seven at the time of the act. Consequence: the child has no criminal liability and cannot be prosecuted for that act.

Priya, age 5, throws a stone while playing and breaks a neighbour's window. Under this rule she has no criminal liability and the police cannot prosecute her for that act.
