Form of warrant of arrest and duration
AI Assist
Summary
Every arrest warrant a Court issues must be in writing, signed by the presiding officer and bear the Court seal. The warrant stays in force until the Court that issued it cancels it, or until it is executed. Informal or unsigned orders do not meet these requirements.
Example
Rohan fails to appear after being summoned, so the Court issues a written warrant signed by the presiding officer and sealed by the Court. That warrant remains valid until the Court cancels it or until Rohan is arrested under it.
