Where warrant may be executed

Any arrest warrant can be executed anywhere within India. When a court or magistrate issues a warrant, police may arrest the person wherever they are found in the country. Usual rules about custody, production before a magistrate, and bail still apply. There is no geographic restriction on carrying out the arrest.

Rohan is wanted in a theft case and a magistrate in Pune issues a warrant. Police spot him in Kolkata and arrest him there under the warrant. The arrest is valid because a warrant may be executed anywhere in India; Rohan must still be produced before a magistrate and can apply for bail as usual.
