When witness to be compelled to answer

When a question put to a witness concerns a matter relevant to the suit or proceeding, the rules in section 137 govern that question. The court must apply section 137 to decide whether the witness can be compelled to answer or may claim any protection under that provision. Follow the procedures and consequences laid down in section 137.
