Punishment for murder

Deliberately causing another person’s death is punishable by either the death penalty or imprisonment for life, and the offender can also be fined. It applies when an act amounts to murder—intentional killing or knowledge that death will likely result. The court decides between death or life sentence and may add a fine.

Aditya plans and deliberately shoots his business partner during an argument, and the partner dies. Charged with murder, if convicted Aditya faces either the death penalty or life imprisonment, and the court can also order a fine.
