Safety measures for drivers and pillion riders
AI Assist
Summary
Only one passenger may be carried behind the driver on a two-wheeled motorcycle. That passenger must sit on a proper seat securely fixed behind the driver and be protected by appropriate safety measures. The Central Government can also prescribe additional safety requirements for drivers and pillion riders.
Example
Ravi rides his two-wheeled motorcycle to the market and tries to carry two friends on the back. Under this rule he cannot carry more than one passenger; carrying two would be illegal. The passenger must sit on a proper seat fixed behind the driver and follow the required safety measures.
