Courts to send intimation about conviction
AI Assist
Summary
When a court convicts a person who holds a driving license for an offence under this Act or for an offence in which a motor vehicle was used, the court must notify the licensing authority that issued the license and the authority that last renewed it. The intimation must give the holder's name and address, license number, issue and renewal dates, the nature of the offence, the punishment awarded, and any other prescribed particulars. This ensures licensing records can be updated and appropriate action taken.
Example
Ravi is convicted for an offence where his car was used. The court sends an intimation to the authority that issued his driving license and the one that last renewed it, listing his name, address, license number, issue and renewal dates, the nature of the offence and the punishment awarded.
