Section131
Procedure in respect of person present in Court
AI Assist
Summary
When the court makes an order about a person who is present, the order must be read aloud to that person. If the person prefers, the court will explain the substance of the order instead of reading it verbatim. This ensures the person understands the order before leaving the courtroom.
Example
Priya is in court when the judge issues an order about her property. The clerk reads the order aloud to Priya, and when she asks the judge explains in plain language what the order means. Priya leaves knowing what she must do.
Bare Act
Enacted textIf the person in respect of whom such order is made is present in Court, it shall be read over to him, or, if he so desires, the substance thereof shall be explained to him.
