Contents of bond

AI Assist

Summary

A bond or bail bond requires the person to keep the peace or to be of good behaviour. If the bond is for good behaviour, committing, attempting, or abetting any offence punishable with imprisonment anywhere will breach the bond. A breach can lead to enforcement like revocation of bail or forfeiture of the bond.

Example

Ravi is released on bail with a bond to be of good behaviour after a street scuffle. Later he tries to help a friend steal from a shop. That attempt and abetment would be a breach of his bond, risking forfeiture of the bond or revocation of his bail.

Bare Act

Enacted text
