Summary
Anyone aggrieved by certain orders of the registering authority can appeal to the prescribed authority within 30 days of receiving notice. The appellate authority must give notice to the original registering authority and allow both the original authority and the appellant to be heard. After hearing, it may pass any order it considers fit.
Example
Priya applied to register her new vehicle but the registering authority refused and sent her an order. She filed an appeal to the prescribed authority within 30 days of receiving the order. The appellate authority gave notice to the original registering authority, heard both Priya and the authority, and then passed an order as it thought fit.
