Application of Chapter to trailers

AI Assist

Summary

Registration rules for trailers are the same as for any other motor vehicle. The trailer must bear the registration mark and that mark must be displayed in the manner the Central Government prescribes, usually on the side of the drawing vehicle. A motor vehicle with trailer(s) attached cannot be driven unless the motor vehicle's registration mark is also shown on the trailer or on the last trailer in the train as prescribed.

Example

Ravi hooks a single trailer to his goods vehicle. The trailer must have its own registration mark, shown as prescribed (usually on the side of the drawing vehicle). He cannot drive the vehicle with the trailer attached unless his vehicle's registration mark is also displayed on the trailer or on the last trailer.

Bare Act
