Report how submitted
AI Assist
Summary
When the State Government directs, a report meant for the Magistrate must be routed through a superior police officer the Government appoints. That superior officer may give instructions to the officer in charge and must record those instructions on the report. After recording, the superior officer must transmit the report without delay to the Magistrate.
Example
Priya files an FIR after her shop is broken into. The station officer prepares the report, but the State Government has ordered such reports be sent through a senior police officer. That senior officer gives instructions to the station officer, records them on the report, and immediately transmits the report to the Magistrate.
Bare Act
