Section112
Procedure in respect of person present in Court
AI Assist
Summary
When a court makes an order about a person who is present in court, the order must be read aloud to that person. If the person prefers, the court may instead explain the substance of the order. The rule ensures the person knows what the order says and can respond or comply.
Example
Rohan is present when the magistrate makes a maintenance order against him. The court reads the order aloud to Rohan, and when he asks the magistrate explains the substance. Rohan then understands how much he must pay and by when.
Bare Act
Enacted textIf the person in respect of whom such order is made is present in Court, it shall be read over to him, or, if he so desires, the substance thereof shall be explained to him.
