(Repealed) Forfeiture of property in respect of offenders punishable with death, transportation or imprisonment

The provision has been repealed and no longer authorises forfeiture of an offender’s property for crimes punishable with death, transportation or imprisonment. Where such sentences are imposed, property cannot be seized under this repealed rule; any forfeiture must rely on other existing laws, if applicable.

Ravi is convicted of a serious offence and sentenced to imprisonment. Under the old provision his movable or immovable property could have been forfeited, but that rule has been repealed, so no forfeiture can be claimed under it now.
