Language of Courts

State Government may decide the language to be used in every court in the State except the High Court for purposes of this Sanhita. That chosen language will govern hearings, pleadings, records and orders in those courts. Courts must follow the language fixed by the State Government unless another law provides otherwise.

Priya files a civil suit in her district court. The State Government has fixed Hindi as the language for that court. The court conducts hearings and issues orders in Hindi, so Priya and her lawyer will file pleadings and records in Hindi or provide translations if required.
