Summary
Allegations about a public servant in any inquiry, trial or proceeding under this Sanhita can be proved by a sworn written statement (affidavit). When an applicant makes such allegations in a court application, the applicant may give evidence by affidavit. The court may also direct that the evidence on those facts be given by affidavit.
Example
Priya files an application in court accusing a municipal officer of failing to inspect a dangerous building. She supports her claim by filing an affidavit describing dates and incidents, and the court may accept that affidavit as her evidence or order that the facts be proved by affidavit.
