“Injury”

Any harm illegally caused to a person in body, mind, reputation or property is treated as 'injury'. It applies whenever loss or hurt to any of those four areas is caused without legal justification. Consequence: such harm is treated as injury for charging, punishment and other legal consequences under the law.

Priya finds false rumours online that she stole money, causing loss of respect at work. That harm to her reputation counts as 'injury' because it was illegally caused. The police or court can treat that reputational harm like other injuries when deciding charges or remedies.
