“Animal”

Any living creature other than a human being is an animal. This definition applies whenever the word "animal" is used in the Code. It decides that rules mentioning an animal cover non-human creatures, not people.

Priya's goat wanders into the neighbour's field and eats the crops. Since a goat is an "animal" (not a human), any provision that applies to animals will cover the goat and the owner may face liabilities specified for animals.
